A superb hand-wired 40w, 1x15" valve guitar combo made in Fender's Custom Shop in March 2003. With two additional switches on the rear panel: one to switch between the standard valve rectifier (40w output), and a diode rectifier (50w output); the other to switch between the stock '64 Vibroverb tone and a Modded circuit with more gain and overdrive (this also disables the Normal channel & Vibrato). These mods were designed by Cesar Diaz 'The Amp Doctor' who was famous for working with and modding many amps for greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Neil Young, and others.
This amp is originally from the American market and as such runs at 120v, however, so that it can be used with the 240v UK Mains, a step-down transformer is included with it, as well as a substantial RoqSolid drop-over cover (see pics). It is in excellent condition throughout and has recently been professionally fully serviced.
Quite a rarity, and a real tone monster!
Here's what Fender say about it:
The '64 Vibroverb Custom is an all-tube, handwired combo amp with a solid pine cabinet and single 15' Eminence® Legend speaker. Rear panel Mod and Rectifier switches enable the player to select vintage black panel tones or 'Texas Blues', modifications made famous by 'The Amp Doctor' Cesar Diaz. Specs include two Groove Tubes® 6L6 output tubes, four 12AX7A preamp tubes, two 12AT7 tubes, 5AR4 rectifier tube, heavyduty textured black vinyl covering with silver grille cloth.
