First introduced in 1949, the ES-175 has become one of Gibsons many famous designs. The ES-175 has been the go to guitar for many legendry guitarist, from Jazz legend Joe Pass, to Steve Howe from the Progressive Rock Band Yes. The ES-175 was the first Gibson electric guitar to feature a Florentine cutaway, giving easier access to all frets. Early models came with just a single P-90 pickup, later changing to dual humbuckers.
This ES-175D is a fine example. Finished in a stunning Figured Vintage Sunburst, this guitar is truly beautiful. The guitar features a Mahogany Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard and Figured Maple Top Sides & Back. The Fingerboard has a dual-parallelogram mother of pearl inlay. The headstock features Gibson's Thistle Peghead inlay. It also has a Bound Body and Back.
The Hardware is all original and in fantastic condition, with no tarnish. Including a Trapeze tailpiece featuring the raised parallelograms and compensated Tuneomatic Bridge.
The Machine Heads are Gibson Deluxe Tulip type.
The guitar has Dual '57 Classic PAF Humbucking pickups (all original), and all original electronics inside. It features 2x Volume & 2x Tone Controls, with a 3 way switch.
