Here is a Gibson Les Paul Custom, produced between 1973 and 1974. Gibson's serial numbers from this period are well known for being difficult to date, however using the guitars appointments we have narrowed it down to between 1973 to 1974.
This guitar features the unique Cross Bound Body design, which was in production until 1973. During this period big slabs of Mahogany were in short supply, so Gibson opted to use two smaller slabs of mahogany with a peice of maple sandwiched in the middle. See photos above.
From 1974 Gibson started using 3 piece necks with the famous valute design on the back of the neck.
This guitar having both the Cross Bound Body and 3 Piece Neck, dates it somewhere between 1973 to 1974.
This Les Paul has a rare two piece top, not often seen.
We believe this guitar to be all original.
It is in wonderful condition for its age. You would be hard pushed to find a better example.
Included is also the Original Gibson Hard.
